The Era

The Era - available here!
finished this painting today.
oil on a hand stretched canvas given to me by a friend. the surface was really really rough and a natural beige.
i'm used to smooth canvases so this was different. I should try coarser canvases for different types of paintings. :)

Served on a Fish plate

Such a beautiful sight. :, ).

this is about the 4th time my gf and I have made sushi and i must say we are getting better at it. We even make a spicy mayo dressing. Of course there is none of our raw favorites, cause i just couldnt trust myself with the responsibilities. And i would hate to waste a perfectly good fish. D:

something old and new

Tides - available here!
Nefarious Cowboy - available here!

At the Park - available here!

Nest - available here!

Lately i've been going through my old sketchbooks and picking out ideas and sketches that i've been wanting to do for a long time.

I'm finally getting around to them and i'm trying to convert my sketches into oil paintings that carry the same line character that i want from my sketches. :)

I hope i have many more to show soon, i've moved out to Austin TX, about 3 hours away from my home town. The job hunt has started... D:

The Boxer: commissioned painting

Sketches:

Work in Progress:

Finished Painting:

This commission was a lot of fun to get into. It was the first for the summer and i hadn't really touched paint for a while, since my Senior Thesis was mostly digital pieces. The portrait is the clients son and his boxing trainer.

i always like to take in progress photos especially for commission pieces. i should do it more often with my regular pieces too. :)
